China's total yarn production increased 13.4 percent from the previous year to 1.89 million tons in December; however, the rate of growth in output has significantly declined since the 2006/07 season when monthly yarn output grew at an average rate of 21.1 percent. Total 2007 yarn production is estimated at 19,826,300 tons.
